Consignment Policy

At VV Department, we take pride in showcasing and selling curated pieces on behalf of our consignors. If you’re interested in consigning with us, please carefully review the policy below to ensure a smooth and transparent process. Pricing is based on the current market to ensure the best of your interest but also fits in VV department pricing which is always lower than market value for our customers. 

Consignment Terms


  • Commission: VV Department takes 40% ( including GST) on the final sale price. You receive 60% of final sale price in store credit or 50% thru direct bank transfer. For example: $100 item sold you will receive $60 in store credit or $50 to your bank account. 

  • GST: A 15% GST is included in the final sale price, as required by New Zealand law.

  • Duration: Each item will be held in-store and online for an initial period of 6 weeks. After this period, you may choose to collect the item, extend the term, or allow us to apply a discount (with your approval) to help it sell. 

  • Payment: Once your item is sold, you will be paid in thru Bank transfer or store credit, based on your preference. Payments are made on a rolling basis within 7 working days after the sale.

What We Accept

We only accept authentic curated archival designer, highly selective vintage, and iconic streetwear pieces that align with our store aesthetic. Items must be clean, in good condition, and authentic.
Our team performs in-person legit checks and photo-based checks before accepting items. We reserve the right to reject any pieces that do not meet our quality or authenticity standards.

Authenticity & Good Faith

All items must be submitted in good faith. Our team performs authenticity checks, but the seller is ultimately responsible for the legitimacy of the item. Any counterfeit items will be immediately removed, and future consignment may be declined.

Fees

A $10 admin fee per item is charged at end of consignment period. This covers:

  • Garment steaming/cleaning (if needed)

  • In-house legit check

  • Studio photography for our website

  • Online listing and promotion

In case of some unhygienic garments that need dry clean, you are responsible for the fee.

Shipping and packing for sold items (if applicable) will be handled by VV Department.

Liability

While we take every possible measure to keep all items safe and secure, VV Department is not liable for loss or damage due to unforeseen events such as fire, theft, or flooding. We treat all consigned items with the highest level of care and professionalism.
